A private, invitation-only dinner is planned on the heels of the SEO
Roadshow on Sept. 9, 2005, in Edinburgh,
Scotland. A private room at the restaurant Giuliano's On The Shore has
been selected for the event.
Termed the "Summit on Search Engine Accountability," the dinner is
expected to be attended by some
of the most well-known marketers in the industry.
When Mikkel Svendsen, one of the invited quests, was asked what topics
were to be discussed he said, "I'm not at liberty
to disclose that. To my knowledge it is just an opportunity for a few
Internet warriors to swap war stories."
Bob Massa, another guest, said there is a trend becoming apparent on the
web for webmasters
to create content with the sole purpose of pleasing big search engines.
"The common perception is that the web is Google and
that is not the case," he said. "Technology should serve people and
empower them to create, not threaten them to comply."
However, Massa said it was not clear to him if that was the focus of the
Summit.
